Hello Everyone, Well... I finally found the Top Box to go with an older craftsman tool box that belonged to a friend. Oldjacks and I were taking in some local sales when I saw this:) The Tool Box does not have one ding or dent and retains it's original finish. It did not have the tray, however I am a pack rat and have two on hand. My Friend loved stickers, so I do not mind the bottom box being plastered with stickers.

@oldjacks Thanks for driving it home:thumbup:

Man you have the shine on that box now. Those two boxes look like a match made in heaven. You will have to buy some more tools now to fill it up.

Great score. I have a smaller version (less drawers) of the combo bought new in the early 70s. Paid about $150 new back then. Great quality for a home shop.

Very nice!

I like that style CM tool box, I have an upper like yours that I repainted. And a bottom section with a large storage area with a fold-a-way panel.

I too, haven't see that particular style bottom - very nice, with better organized storage.

I've only seen a picture of the matching 3-drawer middle section; same depth as the top. Sure would love to get one of those.

Great score on your part.

Sweet looking box....especially for the 60's!!! That must have been the cats pajamas back in the day. Some of the SO and MAC sets from that time look really dated, but I would take that in a minute.

Didn't know you were looking for one! Here's what's sitting in my shop, been dragging them around the country for 40 some years!

Same top box in my shop. My bottom is a 7 drawer with bottom bulk storage. Does the bottom box have roller slides like a filing cabinet? They were my Grandpa's.

The first "real" tool box I bought many years ago was this same set up. Think it came out of a radiator shop and I repainted the top. Still have it.
At one time, I even had a matching intermediate chest on another craftsman rollaway, but I sold 2 years ago. Original key as well.
Currently, I have a second rollaway with this top box and a matching 3 drawer bottom chest with a large storage compartment underneath.
I do see this style on occassion and usually purchase it if priced appropriately.

That's a nice score there, nothing wrong with that box at all. My Dad actually has that same box, we were messing around with it this weekend. His isn't in as good of condition as yours is in, thinking about doing a little refurbishing to it. But you can definitely tell how things have changed from the 60's to today by just opening the drawers.

That's awesome!

I was at my neighbor's tonight and saw that SAME tool box, top and bottom - although, yours is in much better condition - checking out the thickness of the metal they used back then, and the ease of opening 30-40+ year old drawers loaded down, I'm officially jealous.
