Im looking to build a 60x40x14 maybe 16 if recommended to start my own automotive business and I would like some input on bay setup etc. I have only worked in a shop with doors for each bay didnt know how a single door and splitting to bays each way might be better? It is going to be a one man show for the shop but im thanking of doing 2 2post lifts in case you get a big job in and still need a lift and have several flat bays for projects quick jobs any other input on what you would of done differant would help as well.

The 14ft tall is high enough for anything unless your planning on working on semi trucks or the like.
Most two post lifts require minimum 12ft height but 14ft gives you room if you ever need it.

As far as some where to put stuff. I was planning a one car with a lift area minimum size 16x26. You really need about 20x30 for ---one lift.

Full size pickups are 20-24 feet long then you put a cherry picker in front of it and pull the engine with trans=30ft

As far as width the lifts need 12ft normally so 16ft or better give you room for tool boxes and other stuff.

Those sizes are so you can shut the door and work with it closed the whole time.

If its a one man show you can probably just go with one 2 post and one 4 post lift.

You'll want the 4 post if you ever wanted to get into alignments or low cars like corvettes.

Good Luck!
