Today was a great day. I was worried that rain would ruin my day but to my surprise it rained for 10 minutes this morning and then cleared up.
Yesterday I block sanded the Vette with 400 grit dry sandpaper using my vac tools to keep the dust down away from the car then today I wet sanded the car with 500 grit paper using a spray bottle a rubber block and some towels to keep the car clean and not have a watery mess in the garage.
Next with Paul's help we pulled the doors and decklid off the car and put them into the booth for painting.
After a lot of masking I sprayed a white sealer on the parts

Letting the sealer cure for 30 minutes I went back into the booth and applied the base coat to the parts

It is a water based product from P.P.G. the paint co.
After a 2 hour wait because of no heat in my booth and a cold day (55*)
I went back in and layed down a coat of pearl metalic paint.
With the lights in the booth off and using a special light you can see the pearl and gold metallic flakes in the paint

And finally after just a few minutes for flash time the clear was applied and the parts will sit in the booth over night to cure
