Good to see the progress and also see that you are being careful to not over do it.

You will not be able to drive the Vette on the road when your done with it! the Vette will be putting out such a glare in that California sun you will be causing all kinds of wrecks blinding people just crusing down the road

Looking great Don!
It’s going to look killer when done!

I am kicking around idea to drag or drive my ‘66
To GNRS 2019. Think it’s worth the trip?

TimeWarp

It's a killer now. I know cause the work is killin me
Roadster show was a great show for many years.
It was sold to a different company and they have changed it all around
so only about 1/3 as many cars show up now and the venders are complaining that the attendance is way off to

Good to see the progress and also see that you are being careful to not over do it.

Dwight

Thanks D
Taking it easy is only a little by choice lol

Don: WOW and WOW it just might be looking a lot better than it did before. remember to PACE YOURSELF.

it looks like you have an abundance of energy cause after reading your Party Garage thread you managed to almost fully restore and old vintage coffee grinder after you worked on the VETTE.

keep up the great work!!

Thanks David

And welcome back. The vette is almost there so I'm thinking of bringing in my 40 ford sedan delivery and finishing it up

You're right I feel pretty good and I'm excited to get the vette back on the road after 22 years.

The coffee grinder was an interruption from Pat and was a nice change of pace. He brought in a copper funnel and stopped me for a bit while I polished it up for him. I gave Pat some guidance on the grinder today and it is looking pretty good too.

^ ^ ^ This !!

OP you're gonna NEED to also start planning your "outfit" (clothes, hat, haircut, shave, etc) for the '62 Vette maiden drive. Will your wife let you "borrow" a Hooters girl for an afternoon of pictures ?? :bounce:

All your GJ followers will NEED video and lots of pics for sure !!

That dating picture is hilarious, just period-perfect! Was that a little tongue-in-cheek, or a straight depiction of the times?

Don,
The vette looks like the masterpiece you aimed for. It's beautiful and I re-creating that picture with your wife will be a very fun thing to do.

That was a shot of my wife and I going to a fifties party back in 1986 while we were dating

Will you dress up the same? Would be great to see your wife in a poodle skirt and you dressed up the same. :bounce:

Simon
That's the plan. I think Ann still has that skirt

I'm lovin' the vette.

Thanks Toolfool
Looking forward to your visit. You will be able to see the car first hand when you come

This is a great shot.

Thanks AK
I like this one too

Don you should be very proud of your achievement.:bowdown:

Thank you Steve

I'm very happy with the paint the second time around.

Don, the grille really stands out, sharp! Well actually, the whole car.... Beautiful!

Thanks Robert
I agree
I think the grille and the two side wings make the whole car a show piece

Don, the car was absolutely fabulous before. Stunning is the only word I can come up with now. Enjoy that first ride.

I had to repaint the underside of the hood again because we masked it off to repaint the out side and when we pulled the tape off the underside paint peeled with the tape.

He has too, that would awesome!!

It is my wife's idea to relive that photo with the freshened up car (it's the same one)

Don, there is nothing I can say that has not already been said.... but I am going to try! [emoji3]. It is been fun to live vicariously through you as you have worked on the car. It is bittersweet.... it’s like looking at the pin up girl calendar and enjoying the beauty but also knowing you can never have her!

I think the pic reenactment with your wife would be great. I hope you have many many miles of enjoyment with her.... and your wife! [emoji51]

Don, nice work, I'm no body man but i know to get reflection that flat on fiberglass requires equal parts talent, hard work, and technique. The car looks flawless; thanks for sharing! David

Thank you Duker

I enjoy reading your thread very much and have learned much from you.
The corvette has been a long time dream to get back on the road and it is sooo close. I'm waiting for Paul to come back over and give him the same satisfaction as I will get by finishing it.

Exterior looks awesome all back together. I'm sure the interior will look great as well. Funny how we all seem to have more projects and ideas then money at any given moment. I know the budget issue well. No worries you will get there all in good timing.

DON: are you able to drive the VETTE now before the INTERIOR UPGRADE happens?

as I mentioned before i thought even though you had a set back with the accident the VETTE probably did turn out nicer and you have done an AMAZING JOB.

WELL DONE!!
