I just went through this whole vise. It was in good condition but still a mess. It was never maintained, there was so much gunk built up on the slide and in the housing.
I cleaned and polished reusing all the parts it came with. The date code stamped is 12-30-66. The 66 is very hard to see due to never being cleaned or lubed in forever.
Everything was wire wheeled and cleaned.

I etch primed and shot with duplicolor engine enamel. The color is Detroit Diesel Alpine Green. Detailed the letters then covered it all with enamel clear coat. All moving, sliding, rotating parts get coated with Fluid Film
