7.3 injector cup tool

Anyone know of one besides the riff raff tool? I'm trying to do this without pulling the heads but they already sold the job. I'm trying to find one in the ford catalog but no luck.

I have my tool guys looking but I'm trying to avoid ordering it from riff raff for 300+.

That's basically what the Rotunda tool is, a large tap with a threaded hole for a slide hammer.

If I can't find anything I was going to weld all thread to a large tap and then have a plate across the valve springs. Then tighten nut against plate and hope it comes out lol. Slide hammer won't work on the rear cylinders

I'm not a mechanic, but this might be something worth getting a dedicated tool for, since you'd still need to install the new cups and those sets come with the install tool as well.. I have a 7.3, and basically any reputable rebuilt injector company sells a removal and install kit.

Only other option I can think of is looking for a tool from International, for the T444e. Their parts are sometimes cheaper than the Ford equivalents - but not sure about the tools. They are basically the same engines.

I forget where I found one when we did that job a few years back, probably 4 years?

I found it and the cups on ebay as a set.

The ad had the company listed and the truck owner called and had a set sent, it was pretty reasonably priced and the cups were even better priced in comparison, and we had it the next day.

I saw the truck last week and it was still running fine, and given it is a company truck driven by whoever grabs it for a 7 day a week business, I would say the quality of the parts was good.

I want to say it was around $225 ish, tool included.

I'm just going through old posts and caught this. The navistar tool won't work for the truck engine. We ordered it and the tool itself is too small. I assume the cups on the dt are smaller

My boss ended up finding someone with the rosewood tool. It was the cats ***.

You would know better than me, but that's the first I've heard that.. I have a 7.3 and spent some time on the forums years ago and don't remember that being mentioned.. typically most of the international parts are interchangeable. Interesting though..

That's why we ordered it. I was surprised my self. We ordered the otc 5024. They may make another one, didn't look into it any farther. That made me scratch my head
