A few years ago i wadded up my dodge pre runner down in Baja, lots of carnage, it was not pretty but nobody got hurt, anyway, one of the control arms gave up its life during that escapade. I have been messing with the new dodge and trying to get the front dialed in, so i figured it was time to have a new control arm made { these were only available for a short time } After making a few phone calls to a friend in San diego, a replacement was on its way. Notice how they are notched for extra clearance for large tires. I planned to use evolution joints for all ends, but the guy has not got back to me for 2 weeks, so i guess that ship has sailed { bummed, they are the best competition joints made. Looks like i will use ballistic joints, as they will build me exactly what i want. For some unknown reason the arm came back anodized black instead of type 2 clear, my friend called and and explained that the anodizer screwed up, and wanted to know what he should do, i like the black and will send the others out to be stripped and done to match. Anyway, just wanted to share some nice cnc work on a nice chunk of 7075.

My buddy is just the guy that does the programming of all things cnc, he then sends it to a shop that he uses to have the millwork done.

Blue,
You may want to ask if the finish will be the same after stripping the old anodizing off. I only say this because the few times I have had it done the parts that have been re-done were much more dull than the new ones. I'm not sure if it has to do with the process to strip it or not.

CNC are a wonderful tool indeed! I've had mine for 4 years now and I feel I could never learn all there is to learn about them. The possibilities are endless.
These are a short run of retaining nuts I made with cnc.

I will ask the anodizer what is best, the other 3 have a type 2 clear on them, but they are beat up a bit, in the end if they are off color a shade, it will not be the end of the world as they are underneath a truck that gets treated a little bit ruff.

Nastyzen, nice pieces, my buddy that does the cnc programming is a ridiculously smart guy that designs prototype parts for the military and loves to make parts for all things off road.
