70's MAC Toolbox locks

I recently got a 1970's MAC tool box from my grandfather . It has 4 locks total. Should i get with my mac guy to try to get keys or just go to the hardware store and buy all new locks?

most locks have #'s on them, you may be able to get new keys through your dealer

I believe the 1970s MAC boxes were made by MATCO. Are you able to find the model number stamped on the back of the boxes? If you post pictures, there are many members who are very knowledgeable and can help ID the box.

I recently had to get some replacement parts for my box I am working on and had to call the toolbox manufacturing plant out in NY to get the part numbers. They gave me a part number for a basic lock and gave me the option to upgrade to a high security lock if needed. If you need, I can dig up the phone number and extension of the person I was told to contact if I needed anything else.

I was able to take the number on the locks of my old Mac box's and go to a locksmith whe they looked up the codes and cut me a new set of keys.

Are you looking for four keys or are you wanting to get four keyed-alike locks?

I wouldnt mind them being all the same but if i could just take the numbers to a locksmith that would be easier...about how much did it cost to get new keys cut for the locks?
