$72 too much for a used SO FL80?

Have a chance to buy a FL80 that's used but in great condition. It's $65 +$7 shipping. so $72. New on SO's site they're $105. No idea how much they charge for shipping.

Is that a good deal now days, or is $30 shy of a brand new one not worth it. I'm thinking like this: If I buy new from SO, they have record of me buying it and if it ever needs work they'd send me a kit no problem. If I buy it used they may not do that and I might have to spend 10-20 on a kit and be right up with a brand new one.

Sounds like you talked yourself into the new one and I'd agree with your assessment. With the warranty headaches you might get, is $15 worth it to you?

I'm all for buying used to save some money, but I think the choice is clear here.
New stuff is always better especially when the price difference is within 20%

Used is not bad but I would go new for the reasons you state. The shipping is also free for most orders under $500.

All Snapon.com orders are free shipping under $500. There might be a shipping charge if you order a toolbox accessory like a side cabinet or something huge that cannot be shipped UPS.

Buy the ratchet new, officially they do not warranty tools bought used.

$72 shipped for used I would have to have a NEED for it right away, and it would need to be EXACTLY what I want, and I would still be tempted to buy it off the truck to build a little good will and make warranty exchanges feel less moochy.

I never buy used unless it's in excellent condition and I can save at least 25% versus new.
