I have a $75.00 gift card that Sears sent me after royally screwing up and order............what should I get?

I wrench for a living....industrial maintenance.....but I have 4 kids with their own cars so I'm ALWAYS doing something automotive.

I have all the basics and then some...so I'm looking for suggestions for more obscure items..........ya know...those items that you maybe use once or twice a year but are damn grateful to have them when you need them.

I would even be willing to trade it to a member (if I can do that) for something cool. I collect vintage S-K but it would have to be something pretty obscure as I have a pretty good collection.

Last time I was in that situation I got this

http://www.sears.com/kd-tools-front-end-service-kit/p-00996453000P?prdNo=5&blockNo=5&blockType=G5

as sometimes pickle forks just don't work...

if you don't have the Craftsman "bolt outs" (turbo sockets) they're pretty good too and have saved me a few times.

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-10-p...p-00952165000P?prdNo=3&blockNo=3&blockType=G3

Also, there's the stubby wrench set that is in the hot deals forum now... think it's OOS at the moment but they are nice wrenches (I got them)

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_...3h&srccode=cii_5784816&cpncode=35-185351610-2

apparently this

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-48-p...p-00942275000P?prdNo=2&blockNo=2&blockType=G2

is the same as the Snappy one, which I've used and like

this guy

http://www.sears.com/kastar-hand-to...487S6195482606?prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1

is apparently the same as the Blue Point one which I also have used and like, with that and the Harbor Freight brake caliper kit you can do damn near anything although fixed 4-pots you have to remove to press back in.

That's off the top of my head, will post back if I think of anything else

Edit: I did, I also had another gift card to burn and I bought this flashlight

http://www.sears.com/streamlight-ni...-SPM7985625617?prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1

I carry it in a leather belt holster intended for a Surefire 6P; that way if I suspect an AC leak I can just flip to UV without grabbing another light. I am running it on Surefire/K2 LFP123s as RCR123s will make it go ****. You could also run it on a single 17670 (but not 18650) but UV performance will suffer (see my Amazon or CPF review of the same light for explanation)

see if coupon code SAVE15 still works for you if you order online, it worked for me a while back.

I've been eyeballing the rethreading kit since everyone on here has been talking about it lately.

other thoughts... do you have metric and SAE Allen sockets? Torx bits? Triple squares?

I would not order any Craftsman branded tools like that online though as they are all offshoring. Get at store so you can see whether they're Chinese or USA. Might be able to order S-K through Sears website.

(I have the latter and the one thing I've needed that wasn't in there was an E20)

Thanks for the suggestions 8n8...but I have a pile of pullers/pickle forks.....I bought the bolt out set 2 or 3 years ago and they are actually pretty awesome......bought a bunch of stubbys when they were dumping a bunch of wrenches a few weeks ago (learned about that in the "Hot Deals" here).

I also have the Lang caliper spreader and can't believe how well that works...all those years with clamps....yikes.

The rethreader set might be the way to go. I'll probably use that more than I would think.

Anybody else?

I have some specialty sockets in the cart....02 sensor etc.

The rethreader is nice... although I probably use my thread files more than any dies. But the whole kit is not much more expensive than four Nicholson thread files from Amazon so if I had it to do over again I would have bought the kit.

Go buy some work shirts and/or pants. The Craftsman line is finished. As someone else mentioned, bloomers for the old lady ain't a bad idea!
