75 year old Craftsman table saw

The saw was given to me around 1990 when I was living in Oceanside CA. The person that gave it to me was a retired officer from Camp Pendelton, wonderful friend and just an all around great guy. The saw works fine, maybe not as accurate as a newer saw, but it gets the job done and has been instrumental in many projects. The small tag shows patent date June 21 1938

I think that saw was made by Atlas for Craftsman. Looks just like the one my father had when I was growing up. His met its demise when the blade raising mechanism failed, apparently it is somewhat common, sawdust builds up in it and breaks/strips the gears. Might want to take a look and clean it out once in awhile. I still have a few parts from it hanging around, thought the fence assembly would work well on a bandsaw. Have one of those louvered covers hanging around too.

Check YouTube. There are guys who did "home made" versions of BIESEMEYER fences for a fraction of the cost. This is typically everyone's issue with "accuracy".

Old fershure. Patent dates only show, of course, that it can't be older than that date. Could be newer, of course. That's at least a 30s logo, though, AFAIK.
