Hello all,

Well I have been following threads on this forum for awhile now but this is my first post. I picked up a 76 KRA-300E today on Craigslist for a great price, I have been wanting one of these for awhile now. It was almost complete, missing the handle which isn't a big deal because I already had a new handle set up in mind.

So what I have accomplished so far is, I made a handle from hand railing and mounted it using home banister mounts, I also made a butchers block for it. I've stained the wood red mahogany and I plan to strip the red off the box and go gloss black and polish the aluminum door.

So I contacted Snap On today to order replacement slides for a few of the drawers. The guy I spoked to didn't instill a lot of confidence in his job for me, he had a lot of trouble finding my box, the part numbers and overall ability of performing his job. When he finally found the slides and started placing my order he kept running into issues processing the order. He first entered the wrong expiration date, then my name was wrong, then he said that it wasn't going through because my address isn't the right one for the card so I should contact my card holder and correct that before I can place the order... So I got off the phone with him and checked my account and it turns out, what ever he did, he definitely charged my card the amount. I call them back and get a different person and explain it to her, and she says the same thing that its my card not them.. I've never had an issue with my card before, they obviously were able to charge my card the amount but yet my order was never completed. So in the end, I'm out $52 till my card gets refunded and still no new slides coming my way...

I had almost an identical experience with Eastwood. I'd never had any problems with my card/address before. But this lady kept messing up the information. Finally, she said I was OK. I looked and they had charged my card, however, a day later I got a message from Eastwood saying my card information was wrong. Took me a week to get things straight and get my refund. I've not done any more business with Eastwood.

So frustrating. I've tried being nice and trying to work it out patiently with the people, but that doesn't seem to work. These days I give them one opportunity to either send the part or refund me, then I file a dispute with the CC company. I value my time and don't want to spend it messing with fools. ;)

That *****. There are good customer support people at Snap-On but like anywhere else, there are rotten apples in the barrel.

Keep at it. Anything worth doing is never easy.

I most likely will have to wait till next week to see if they will actually refund my card before I try again because of the holiday. Next time I will just do it all online. lol

That's what I thought, but he asked me if I was the original owner which I'm not, then went right into the pricing.

Subscribed. I have my Dad's 1962 version that he purchased 6months before I was born. Plan to someday redo it to its glory. Back in the day I even purchased a new 300, and traded off for a larger SNAPON tool box back in 1983.
