Can I run a small portable sand blaster with a compressor that puts out 8.5 cfm at 90 psi

Do pressure washer sand blaster kits work

Depends on the blast cabinet and gun, likely the compressor will run continuously in most cases.

Even the HF a portable blaster says 6 CFM @ 60 PSI; 25 CFM @ 125 PSI
Pressure tank vs gravity feed ?……… Air Consumption: 6-25 CFM,
Lower CFM is going to slow………..car frame is going to take a while.

The pressure washer sand blasters are very temperamental……….some report OK results by making the “sand” a slurry mix. They can be slow and messy…….but all blasting has a mess, dirt and dust factor.

I should've stated my setup above: 13.5 CFM @ 90 PSI, 60 gallon tank, and a large roll-around pressure pot sandblaster. The compressor runs continuously when blasting, but it keeps up.

I saw 2 air compressor with a tee connection on YouTube claiming that you can up your cfm and storage this way is this true. Wouldn't the output of the one be putting pressure against the other

As long as they are both rated for the same psi you could have as many compressors as you could power up tied into the same line. If both were 8.5 CFM then you would be delivering 17 CFM

It's preferable to set the pressure switch on them slightly different so they don't both kick in at the same time, say one of them 125-95psi and the other 120-90psi but that's easy enough to adjust

The biggest problem with any sand blaster is that the nozzles wear out. Find out what the replacement nozzles cost.

The standard nozzles that came with my TP Tool cabinet were steel and wore quickly. I was talked into the ceramic nozzle .....a BIG difference. A ceramic will out last a dozen steel nozz.

I bought the one called sandblast kit with 10 ceramic nozzles for 80.00 free ship. It works with a pressure washer plus I bought a gravity fed gun. But its 90 deg so I'm putting up (4) 2 in dia x 10 ft long pieces of conduit in (4) 5 gal buckets with a 2 1/2 dia pvc pipe in the middle with rocks around the pvc pipe. Then attach a 12 x 12 tarp using u clamps
