Hi guys, I have been needing a bench grinder for a long time. My neighbor had this one and was in need of some cash for another project, so....until I can find a nice vintage Baldor to restore, I grabbed this one.

I am assuming he removed the wheel cover when he put the wire wheel on, and its nowhere to be found. Some searching revealed that this cover looks to be the same as Buffalo and other Chinese grinders.

My searching hasn't revealed any place to purchase a replacement. Do any of you guys have one of these sitting around or know of a source?

Thanks for the help, I appreciate it!

I do, I do! LOL. give me a bit to see what it is. I think I have a r&l side from something

This is why I love this forum...hoarders jumping in to ship their stash to the needy.
:lol_hitti

I knew someone would have a couple of these in a dark corner, behind the bundle of used bandsaw blades, sitting on top of a box of rusty carriage bolts with square nuts...

I don't think they will work due to not having the outlets / wrong shape on the bottom. I ran across these when searching for replacements, so if I decide to try and make them work, I can order them and save you the hassle of having to ship them. But again, thank you very much for the help.

I needed a replacement cover for an old Delta 7 inch grinder. I started measuring covers at my local Harbor Freight. To my astonishment the six inch grinder covers were almost an exact fit. Got them home, only problem was hole spacing for the attachment screws was a little off. Pan head machine screws covered both holes (mostly). Used the 25 percent off coupon. Cost was $28 or so. I figure an authentic cover would have cost me that, but this way I got a free grinder, extra cover, and two wheels.

On that cover shown in that generous offer, I bet you could cut it and pop rivet on an extension that would look real nice.

On the Craftsman block grinder thread there was a recent post of a guy who made his own covers from flat metal and welded in a wheel bearing dust cap at the bump out in the cover where the arbor nut is. Did a hell of a nice job.
