I had a harbor freight press that I have been putting in a lot of work on. It was mounted on my wooden work bench and was just getting in the way. So I got the welding out.
Everlast mig 200 was used with a 75/25 CO2 and argon.
Cut up 1/4" plate and drilled some holes out.

bedliner did the job

mounted the drill press

mounted a universal 4" xy vise

Do you have much weight you can add to the base? I know on my old floor mounted drill press, the base plate was a very heavy piece of cast iron. It was very stable. I would be concerned about the stability of your stand without the weight on the very bottom. Otherwise looks good. I used a similar setup for years before I bought my mill.
