Got my new heater for my 30x36 shop. Looking to install this coming weekend as the temps look to be more mild. I have enough Z vent to get through the wall but I’m wondering on how to attach to the heater it self. Do I need a transition piece to go from single wall to z vent? Or can I just run the z vent right to the single wall galvanized coupler on the heater and throw a couple self tappers through it? My current heater is run horizontally with type B vent and I’m looking to bring it up to code. The type B vent has an adapter that goes to my old heater which brings me to this question.

Thanks

I have the same adapter, bought from a supply house. Problem is the vent off the back of the heater is only 1” long and it needs to go into that adapter by 2” to make a good seal... Does anyone know on this forum?

If you have a Menards close by

Saf-T Vent[emoji768] 4" Rheem Appliance Adapter Category III Venting at Menards https://www.menards.com/main/p-1444453724796.htm

Otherwise I'm sure the other big boxes have a similar adapter. This clamps to the short stub sticking out of heater and transitions to cat 3
