Im wondering if 850 sqft floor is to big for me to handle painting by myself. The wife said she'd help but didnt sound to enthused. She knows how picky I am and if something goes wrong you know its her fault.

If you are using an epoxy with a limited cure time....just make sure you mix smaller amounts with the same ratio. Try and get all the edging done first with a brush, then use the roller for the rest and try not to paint yourself into a corner!:lol_hitti

If this is your first time, and you're doing it by yourself, just break it down into manageable chunks. A 220 ft2 area is easy to do by yourself, so just do four of them, at least for the primer. By the time you get to the second coat, which is usually considerably easier (since you'll be coating a slick, smooth surface) you may just want to do it in 2 sections.

Read all instructions, have everything ready and materials at hand, know product ratios and proportions, work carefully and you'll be fine.

My wife and I did 1350 square feet without any major problems. Took us about five days total time, but allowed me to install a quality floor (with chips) for less than half what I was quoted to have an epoxy floor (with less chips) professionally installed. It has been down a little less than a year now and still looks fantastic and is a pleasure to work on.

I consider myself very detail oriented and I am extremely pleased with the results. Epoxy purchased from Wolverine Coatings.

Don't imagine it would be too bad. My garage is just a bit over 600sq ft and I am doing it myself. I wouldn't think a couple more feet in both directions would make it any harder.

I did a 900 Sq ft alone , Just did each half by itself. no problems. hardest part is just getting started with not knowing what to expect, once you start, you get a feel for how its gonna go on and then you can sort of plan ahead in your mind and start preparing for the next move beforehand, its not bad. Then the second half was cake. Buck a word of advice, Make sure you let the floor dry thoroughly after washing it down after etching, My second half , got a few bubbles in it , and I think its cause I didn't let it dry enough after the final rinse.
