8510 flood coat - how long to absorb in?

After using 4500 last weekend I just put down a flood coat of 8510. Sprayed it on at 300 SF per gallon, there was obvious "pooling" on top of the concrete. How long before I worry about removing any excess on top of the concrete?

want to avoid any issues with residue from excess material (if that is a concern?). How long will it take for it to completely absorb in?

Here is a picture after about an hour.

As an update, it took over 12 hours for all of the sealer to absorb into the concrete. Not sure if that is normal but that's how it went. I also applied 4500 and 8510 to the front porch which has a broom finish. Two coats of 8510 and porch looked dry within two hours. Assume that the hard troweled finish on the garage slab really slows down how fast the sealer can work itself into the concrete. It rained this morning and the water beading on the porch is impressive.

Thanks for posting the update. I cleaned my floor this weekend, and I'm planning to apply the 4500 this afternoon and the 8510 next week. I'm sure I would have had the same concern.

take it easy on the 4500. I sprayed it on and then rolled it to get an even distribution. Had some residue in a couple of places the next day that I had to scrub off. In hindsight I would have sprayed it on a little less and used a microfiber pad to spread it and make sure there wasn't any puddles. The 8510 sprays on super fine and consistent, very easy to work with.

I did 4000 sqft with the 4500 yesterday and my floor is new with a heavily power troweled smooth finish and was poured 10 months ago. I did 4 gallons DI water with the 1 gallon of 4500 and that 5 gallons total covered the whole 4000 sqft and I had a little left over. It seamed like pretty much an liquid hitting the surface would sit on top. I sprayed the whole thing and had some sitting on the surface. waited about 15-20 minutes and then went around with a towel and tried to dab it up. I think It turned out OK maybe a little reside but not too bad. Wish I would have had a roller to spread it more, maybe another person to do that as I sprayed. I think the fact that I went 4/1 saved me on the residue. If it had been a stronger solution probably would have had a lot of residue Im thinking.

Appreciate your feedback on the 8510, im putting that down this coming weekend and was wondering this same question on how long it should take to soak in. I will make sure and have some mops around to spread it around if there are pools left that don't soak in.

It is completely normal to have 8510 sit on top with the flood coat application. I can recall one or two applications where it was still damp in spots the next day and we had them move it with a roller as it had pooled in a low spot.

My floor did exactly as Justin describes. This photo was taken the next day, roughly 22 hours after I applied it. You can see that the areas that are still wet are low spots leading to the drains. I took a microfiber mop and spread it around. Floor was dry a couple of hours later.
