The old burner wouldn't have made it another year. The end sticking into the boiler was burned clean off.

I am having the waste oil at the Hill cleaned tomorrow, I am trying to make sure I am prepped for winter as well.

Nice. I have to empty the storage, remove old boiler and move racking over a couple feet. Then build and reinstall boiler. It's going to be a busy fall.

I haven't done a proper inventory on my convertible. I *think* i have everything i need, but it's been so long since i thought about it i don't have a good handle on it and i am too busy to check on it right now. I'm not doing a restoration, it's going to be restomod/custom but stock looking.

went to press a cup in, no problem, then discovered i have nothing the right diameter (almost 4") to get it pressed the rest of the way. As the lathe is not under power atm, i have to wait until tomorrow to lathe a puck to use for full press. BUT i should be able to get it done by friday night, and hopefully get the namco back up by saturday. if true, the final shop move should start saturday, at the start of my week off, and hopefully we are back in operational order next week, and well on our way to getting critical projects moving.

While out in the field working on equiptment ran into that problem on a regular basis, took the old race and a 41/2"
grinder with a flap disc and grind the OD down a little and drove the new race into place. Sometimes a heavy flat bar
across the old race helped.

I was also going to suggest that. It's usually what I do for odd size bearings. Pending how far into the cavity, you could also slice the old race so it is similar to a piston ring. Then you minimize the possibility of it sticking in the bore.

By my press I have a variety of old bearings for exactly this purpose....

If it's an interference fit, I generally toss stuff in the freezer for a few hours. Can also heat up the pocket.

Working on draining the overhead tank storage into a tote. Then probably pump out the two barrels on the floor also so i can get the overhead storage rack moved.

My kid lost the trans funnel for his truck so i'll probably have to go figure out something to help him since he's shop-helpless.

When i moved the spare 7.3 out of the shop, it flipped over and destroyed the pallet. i think i'm just going to leave it upside down and lift onto whats left of the pallet. I'm running out of indoor space for all this stuff.

Ugh. Went to load up the truck crane to go get some waste oil about 15 miles away. Went into the machine shed and got stung by yellow jackets about 4 times. One was up my shorts right next to the junk. I'm NOT happy.

My skin looks like skin on a sausage, but i'm working through it with benadryl and topical itch creme. the pallet shelf with transmissions is gone, it's all out in the yard. I still have some stuff to move out before the lathe comes over. But that's the next big move.

Amazon delivered wasp traps. NOBODY local had anything.

Damn, I fooking hate yellow jackets. Have been stung multiple times on several occasions; that's no fun. Last time they got me was several years ago; I got a gallon of gas and went back after dark and got my revenge.

Trouble is I don't know where the damn things live. I walked thru machinery shed, didn't touch anything. Next thing I know have 4 of them stinging me

They are miserable, not as bad as the bald faced hornets, but a lot worse than most of the other bees. Even the paper wasps around here don't attack as vindictively.

I hope that things keep progressing, maybe someday I too can start to shuffle things around...

We seem to have two varieties around here. One builds a cone hanging off something in the yard, the other builds a comb under eaves. I set two traps today. My hand swelled up like a sausage. Everything itches.

Bee stings are strange, you can get stung a hundred times over forty years, then all of a sudden you get a crazy reaction. I have heard (never confirmed) that the venom from stings stays in your system and at some point you can become allergic. I am not fond of bees, but we seem to get tangled into situations several times a year, I usually win the battle, sometimes they get a few shots in.
