Several more sheets up today, had to take down another light. It's getting pretty dark in there. I can't buy or put up any of the T5s until i get some scaffolding. I have to get a couple of totes and put some more MC parts up on the shelves to clear more space, then i will take a break and work on my boy's bike for a bit. Next week, i will be out of town in training hopefully, then back at it after that. End of the month i have scheduled some time off work, hope to make serious progress on the lean-to for the north side. Would like to get all the framework completed and ready for sheets.

86 - I just found this thread today, great progress you are making in getting that space back so it works FOR you and not against you. Hell, I don't even know what half of those monster tools can do but they are cool looking. Keep up the good work!

Yes. Mount them first and then run conduit.

what did you do to rebuild the sheet lifter? new hydraulics or was their welding and new steel involved? i bet it's handy to have and use.

I rebuilt the main pulley area, added steel for pivots. Straightened the hub assy and added a brace to keep it straight. Straightened the legs that were bent. So far they are holding. Cheap lift, but does the job.

Got the ceiling done yesterday, all the way over to the wall. I'm now free to finish the shelves and load them up. I have a bit of a dilemma though, I need more material for shelving, but the material i have available is still in the mezzanine. I really need that unloaded and disassembled, but don't have the room for it. I might have to break down and buy more to get more off the floor. More likely i just let it sit for a month while i build the lean to.

I'll get a pic up later today. forgot to take the phone to the shop yesterday.

I welded a boat winch to mine. Never could get the original brake to hold or not jam up when I was trying to go up.
Chinese junk but works well enough for occasional use.

I hear you. I stuck with this one because i have two masts. One goes to 15ft, the other to 12. Needed both obviously.

Yep, thanks, already been trying to catchup on honeydos and haul a new washing machine up 3 flights of stairs. Tired already and it's hot. I may take the audi for a spin at the hottest part of the day just to cool off. I'll try to get more photos up later. Keep working on your shop, you're making progress too!

Aint no garaging going on in that neighborhood. I was told a 2 br apartment costs 2X what my house payment is. With street parking only. And i live on 10 acres in the country with a 3000 sq ft house and a 2500 sq ft pole barn, and the wife has a 24x30 gambrel roof horse barn, for reference. Ain't nobody poor in downtown chi-town unless you mean house-poor.

And there might not be updates for a while. Back flared up today and I need to recover. Going to the up for a few days on Thurs and will be busy the week after. If your so inclined, say a prayer for me on my back pain. Last time went to the er for it.

Getting better. Was supposed to have last couple days off to go up north, but just went to work instead. I'm probably about 4 to 5 days out from being 100pct.

Slowly getting back in the groove. Today is my first day without taking pain meds. So far so good. I finished up my boy's XR250 last night, he's happy and it's out of the shop. Unfortunately, i gained the XS400 from the wife. She had it in the house garage. I'm just about ready to start a big shop project this coming weekend that will be using a lot of the floor space that was cleared. Stay tuned for updates. I'm off work until after labor day. We'll see how much i can get done without lifting heavy.
