It's like a greek tragedy or something. AS I WAS QUITTING Sunday night, i stepped out of the shop and noticed a significant warm up from the about 10F it was inside. Supposed to be in the 30-50s all week, and then single digits this coming weekend.

Sigh....

Beautiful weather. I am getting more shop time. Heating parts continue to roll in. Cut out a couple parts for a flue. Drywall continuing.e568b0eb6346c4e36a36ee85e7fcd27f.jpgf639226592fb9cf75cfef50da0678f5e.jpga6dff73c9893a132eb48752d966ef7b5.jpg8ce81457b4e8c34e2af1dc437eec1c86.jpg183b0df651c02aaa7399f6c0239536f0.jpg

86,
Great progress, keep at it! Your photos with the insulation “bricks” reminded me when I purchased those exact same ones from Menards a few years ago when I finished my garage. I purchased about 30 blocks which took two trips and about 2 months of constant shuffling in my garage because I purchased them during the 11% sale but didn’t have the help yet to install it. It’s a great product though because it’s highly effective without all the itch!

Thanks Shuman, that's the small pile! The big one is in the lean-to next door. I'm going to be really happy to get those out of here, i'm constantly walking around them. Getting close though, maybe as soon as this week!

Getting there. Working on the last of the drywall. Placed the boiler and buffer tank. Hope to blow some insulation this weekend.a42c790a33ec550f30a8124dbd4613e6.jpgc09fadd42b06f7b21cac5d3dca71d253.jpg19052f5f116f1a503a950f0016a95ea2.jpg

Wrapped up the drywall finally. The insulation blower at Lowe's was out so I have to wait a bit on insulation. But all the heavy stuff is up finally. Beer thirty...ac18ea399c6e1596d9ec627f638e71aa.jpg257b129473b329d63fd22663f71e6a06.jpg

While I wait for the insulation blower and parts to show up, I started getting rid of old floor heating components I don't need and cleaning up. Made a plate for the new flue pipe. The old one was a wierd oval shape that didn't match anything.9cb429dbf220ee1c66d0b65928dfa2df.jpg61f3b5cab0616d2537d90693986e5517.jpg2f5d82af832cdae685e1a2bb5b8dcdd6.jpg

Thank you rmalkow2,

Today i rented an insulation blower and we got all the walls filled. Looong day. Clean up and return blower tomorrow and then clean the shop top to bottom. Then start prepping to get the ceiling blown in. Pics later. Good night.

Long days that end that way are well worth it in my opinion. Keep at it, you may be able to use the heat in May or even April at this point! :)

That's exciting that the walls are insulated. You'll be good to go for the entire envelope in no time. Well done sir!

Bit of mess left over. Since the missus helped me all day Friday I took some of the weekend and did some things for her. New lights in the stable and a security light outside. Sunday I got back on the cleaning when i wasn't hacking up a lung. Picked up a cold over the weekend. Yay. Still have some insulation left over that will get added into the ceiling pile.
One thing I've noticed is how vastly quieter it is in the shop. And can't hear the radio outside the shop anymore. It's nice.
My 4-20ma temp transmitters finally showed up, so more of the heating stuff is in house now. I should have enough critical mass to get started now.
To get the overhead door open and blow insulation in, I need one more package from China. Ordered some welding lead extension connectors. The framework above the door will be welded, and I bought 100ft more weld cable, but need to add that to the other so I bought some connectors. Then the leads can reach out the door and up above. This week I'll be doing the top bit of drywall to close the walls and cleaning up and organizing a bit. And some plumbing if I can manage it. Thanks for watching. Later.1ef272949ceeb64290b655bc7409f7be.jpg2519886e38195a376c31b32e507e095d.jpg05a2b4e416ec76e4511e2e27c6908a2e.jpg

I wish i could Strouty! It's supposed to start getting cold tonight. And i need to go get more drywall. Probably a couple more sheets to finish it all. There's some little stuff left, but there's a point of diminishing returns on a million little patches vs a $10 sheet.

I could have gotten some done on the heating last night if i could have found my solder. Guess i need to stop and get some tonight.

Supposed to get down to 7F tonight! Yikes!

We just got back from getting drywall and solder. It's so cold I just came in. Feet freezing. I'll make another attempt tomorrow.

Well I tried to get all the drywall done this weekend, it turned out to be harder to work above the pallet racking than anticipated. I have 3 12in wide pieces left above that and a section above the control wall that I can't put up because I forgot I had to reroute an electric line. I have some copper fittings to order today and then I can get started on the heat again. Cold weather is back. It was 8f last night. Reconfigured the near heat exchanger piping so I can fully drain it. I think it's there. Should be sweating that part tonight.f2c964f24c5b0b93bd1f6a0bd78f0896.jpg

Why doesn't it feel like it...

Been sweating pipe. It doesn't like it in 20 degree weather. The flux is solid.

Compared to where you started, you've come a loooooong way.

I don't have near as big of a shop/garage and I REALLY need to do a 'gut and revamp' to make it more pleasant and efficient to work in.

You're doing a good job. Keep up the good work.

Thank you, that is actually encouraging. I had to bring these in to warm up. Nothing's working very good at these temps.

After I can finish that loop and pressure test.bb8277b204eb4527e0900663615a0e8c.jpg
