Wired up a few outlets and a light switch today. Also put up another section of pegboard and put in the air conditioner.

My Uncle used to build / rebuild Indian and Harley motorcycles in an 8 by 6 shed.. He could only work on one end at a time due to the other end being stuck out through the door in all weathers..lol..

Good luck to you and enjoy your new space..

Realized its more like 7 by 12. Framed up the addition. 11'3" by 12. Pitching the roof probably through the week then await to find cheap walling materials. And a good deal on red metal roofing.

Awesome! That is a huge increase in space. Have any photos of your work on it?

This is there im at now. Got the last rafter up then got a ladder. Waited but the guy was running behind. Slow progress but i got to save money for the metal roof and decide on wall construction still.

What the hell is going on with those rafters? Is there a big section cut out of the middle or am I just not seeing something right. I sure hope it doesn't snow in your part of Ohio.

You might want to rethink that roof structure bud. I totally understand building on a budget, but that could get you hurt or dead real easy if it collapsed.

They are trailer rafter from a mobile home a buddy tore down. They are flipped upside down so the flat side is up as opposed to a curved surface. Ive hung 150lbs on each one ehile they are in position and they dont flex enough to worry about. Im going to set up a brace and a removable center support for winter just to be on the safe side.
After i had everything framed up i was thinking man i didnt put enough pitch on that lol. So i figured id at a center brace.

Also got a killer deal on a truckload of used metal roofing. All in good shape about 480 linear ft for 125 bucks.

Well that sure explains the whoop I'm seeing. Trying to look at this on my phone didn't help either.

Going to start taking some smaller bike jobs starting in the spring as well. I have a decent amount of people wanting me to do work for them. So i figured i needed a name for my mini shop. "The Slums" built out of others scrap and trash.

Got 4 LED lights 4ft fixtures rated at 5500LM.
Not as i.pressed with them as they are a softer light. Caught them on clearence at rural king. They have built in Bluetooth speakers. Little shop tunes soon to come.
I have a 2 bulb fixture and led bulbs to hang over a workbench when I get to building it. And through the off and on rain amd snow i found one leak in the ceiling.

Since my last post I've done some organizing not alot though. Got a lift table as well.

Also came into a moisture issue. When snow melts or it rains my floor os wet everywhere. I know its not coning from the roof so it has to be ground water. I guess i need to get a layer of crushed run and raise the floor up a bit.

Finally got around to wiring my 220v.
trying to clean up the work space I've really let it become a mess in the last few months.
Hopefully running the 110 for this side as well this week. NO PROMISES THOUGH lol.

Inbetween jobs atm so doing cheap work. got a section of pallet under the tool box as well. Took measurements
to use some 2×6 i have left to make a frame to hold a section of countertop for a small workbench. I have one more pallet to pull apart and trim down to make a shelf under the workbench. IMG_20190921_163959_01.jpg

Built the workbench today. Added a aerosol can bin after this. going to move the tool box down and the workbench closer to optimise space. Still need a big enough gap to get a 20gal air compressor inbetween the workbench and welder come spring.
still all free and used material though!20190925_184915.jpg

Now im looking at extending another 10 feet out.
The main shop will be 12x21 then.
Going to lift the 4x4 posts for this part and dif out from under them to stick landscaping block under.
Help slow the rot of the posts. as they are on the ground currently.
Then im going to dig a foundation for the new addition. I'll lay one layer of Concrete blocks down.
then I can frame my walls like a house.
the 12 foot wide end I'm going to leave a 8 foot opening in the framing so that I can build double doors.
its going to be fun attaching it to the "pole barn" style I have already added.
any thoughts? 20200816_223108.jpg20200703_184558~2.jpg

The reason for adding again is simple. Like many of you I have outgrown my space.
I have a customer bike on my lift. My 3 are outside. parts and such are inside.
on the other side of the original shed I am also planning to go out 8 feet for a spot to store my lawn equipment.

then all have 8x12 gor lawn related stuff.
7x12 for home repair and carpentry tools.
21x12 for my motorcycle shop.
I feel like will work for me very well. It will have to thats all the room I have to build on property and still have 4 cars worth of parking.

What I love about your build is it isn't fancy. It's rude and crude and built quickly out of necessity!

And what you get is a space to do real work!

It's a show place of a different kind. A place to show us what you can do with minimal resources to get going and really do something!

Still going strong in the mini shop.
Have really outgrown it but that's the life right?
Build then outgrow?
Going to try to add a lean too off the side to park bikes under this year.
Also to double up and be able to get the hood of a car under as well.
