9' opener for an 8' door?

I came across a used belt drive opener (Liftmaster Formula1). It was operating a 9' door, and I have an 8' door.

What's involved (is it even worth trying) to convert it to operate my 8' door?

I don't have much exp with openers, but is it as simple as just replacing the 9' belt and rail with 8' parts?

It really is not that hard a conversion. It is just a matter of adjusting the travel limits on the door opener. Look up the manuf. online and find a manual...

Yeah just move the stops on the travel limiter likeT T T M said, I have 8 ft openers on 7ft doors, no problem.
