Okay so I have several staplers that live in tool boxes and come out for use in my garage and they're all cool and happy. And then I have a stapler that I take with me outside of my garage and it's cool and happy until it runs out of Staples at which point the pain begins. I need to figure out a good way to carry Staples with me because trying to leave them in the original box *****. No matter how many layers of tape you wrap around the stupid box it always ends up self-destructing and then you end up trying to piece together sticks of five or six Staples and because they're so short they always jam and like I said the pain begins....

So all of you guys that leave Staples in the box in the drawer and only ever take them out when it's time to reload your stapler, you guys can just close your browser right now, I don't want to talk to you. I want to talk to people that carry Staples out into the world and have found ways to keep them from self-destructing.

I use one layer then as the next layer gets used you have to get a little creative with refolding the crappy box. Any better ideas and I’m all 👂s. I bet someone has a simple fix and we just need new eyes 👀 on it.

I don’t bring the whole box. I keep my “out in the world” staples in an empty larger size prescription bottle with a couple cotton balls shoved in for padding. You can put a bunch of staple strips in it and it survives pretty rough handling.

I also have staples in a plastic box meant for reloaded .357 mag/.38 spl. Ammo from MCM Caseguard works well too.

Years ago, I was a shooting instructor and used tons of Staples. I'd try to be really careful about organizing but if a box got too messy, I just tossed it or gave it to another instructor.

Never had a box wear out before the Staples were gone though

Never tried with staples :dunno: , but a velcro magnetic wristband works great for screws around the property. Just hung up the winter storm panels.

The plastic boxes for 22 shells with the sliding lid work well. You can put cotton in to keep them from rattling.

I have tried the CCI boxes and they are OK whrn they are full, and I used foamie earplugs to keep them from rattling, but that seemed a substandard option.

on a sidebar , I bought a bunch of carton closing staples that were all in short pieces ( they were supposed to be in new condition) message the seller & got a healthy refund . I cut some pcs of wood for jigs and glued them all back together with wood glue to make them into strips again.
I have a few hrs of my time invested , and paid about 10% of regular price .

I've had pretty good luck with the flat Arrow 1000 staple boxes.

Now I'm wondering if it's worth designing and printing something to hold staples though

Plastic storage tubes. Check Container Store or Lee Valley.

Or, those plastic toothbrush containers at CVS / Walgreens / Walmart.
