Hey everyone. Ive been scoping out this forum for some time now and I must say there's a lot of creative and talented people here so thanks to those who have given me some fresh ideas. I had my lofty get away built last Nov 2011 by Durabuilt Pole Barns from Canton, Ohio and damn they built it in 3 days w/4 guys. I told the foremen "well you beat my build time by 6 months", he just chuckled. Ive always wanted a pool table/recroom so that was my plan from the beginning. I play on some pool leagues in my area its a place when my teams can come over and hang and BS. I've been and working on it during the nice winter months since we practically had no winter here in NE Ohio. 60, 70 degrees when it should have been 20 or 30. So Ive got a lot done and way before my goal of Fall/Winter 2012. The only major thing I have to do is the heating. Gas or electric? The house is close so gas line wont be to expensive but I have 4-5 months to think about it. Enjoy the pics and and ideas or suggestions feel free to comment

Ordered it in August and when they called to make the deliveries the pics started. Before the build 10/18/11

Very neat looking shop! It looks like it makes great use of the space.

I hope to stove.

If I can side track here for a minute. Here's a little thing that saved me from a lot of backache. My brother, stepdad and I bought this Satoh tractor 4 cylinder gas job about 4 yrs ago and its paid for itself over and over already. I tore it down in 2010 to replace the clutch and well lets say it didn't stop there.

The clutch disc just fell out when I took it apart

I love the lights, what a score for $10 each. Were the brass parts on it or did you have to refixture them? I bought one on Ebay a few weeks ago for $40 and they are not as nice as those. I am putting a gooseneck tuibe on it and mounting it over the walk thru door on my new building. I still have to find one more for the other door but they usually cost a lot more than $40 each.

Looks good. :)

Would 4-5' off wood floor be enough? Just thinking you might have one foot on wood and one on carpet when shooting.

Looks great so far. How'd you get the pool table upstairs?

It took me and 3 other guys to get it up there. That was a work out that day because we had to take out of a basement as well.

Yea the brass was there so they came just as you see them. I actually bought the last 5 they had. One of them is in the stairwell and other might go above the bar. Thats 2 1/4 pvc pipe for the rod. 2x2 wood cut offs cut to fit the radius of the pvc and drill thru and use the original mounting hardware that would be used to mount to a electric box. I drilled a hole in each pool ball then using a hole saw cut and sanded a piece of wood for a snug fit in the end of the pipe then screwed the wood to the ball and plugged them in each side of the pipe.

Looks good. :)

While standing in the shooting position and taking just a visual look at the distance it may be closer to 5' but your right I might have to take an actual measurement b4 I install anything.

We finally took it out of storage. Its a '78 Granada I bought in April '90. I drove it that spring and summer as a daily driver then well lets say I had other plans.:3gears: Its a factory 302 4speed car but not so factory anymore. bored, forged pistons, .512 lift cam, Weiand tunnel ram, dual 600's with a Borg Warner 4speed. That's what did to the car. I gave it to my oldest son when he turned 16. He has added Trick Flow .202 aluminum heads and a 5speed. We switched it from a mechanical linkage clutch to a cable style. Its been in a dry heated storage since 2005 when he got a job in Florida(Daytona area). He's home for business so we changed the gas put in a battery and in about 6-7 turns she was breathing again. So his adrenalin is flowing now. Soon as he buys a house he's taking her home.

Here's my baby. I bought in June of '99 a 265 w/power glide trans. 75,00 original miles 1955 Belair Sport Coupe. Im almost done with it just all those little things. Carpet, missing chrome pcs, that kind of stuff but Im getting there. My younger son gets this one
