Wish there were a frontal photo to give more info as to the function of the strap.

Packard,

I'm concerned about that one:

1. Shouldn't there be pipe vise jaw inserts in the jaw slots?
2. My understanding of straight jaw/pipe jaw combo vises is that they are weaker than standard jaw vises. With the strap metal on the dynamic jaw, is the jaw body broken?
3. in the picture above, is the front of the slide broken?
4. Is the handle original?

IMO: A pretty expensive parts vise. Too bad.

I would say the strap is a bodge up replacing the usual Parker screw retaining collar.
It does look like the slide is broken at the rear. Its a lot of money for something that damaged.

Difficult to believe anyone would have gone to that much work to replace a collar. There are ten easier ways.

Posted because of the unique repair. As mentioned, we need a frontal photo to see what's what.
