A Bright Idea

I am pretty sure that someone else has thought of this before I did but anyway here is my way of "Brightening Up" things. Ever wish you had more light when doing work on a front end, or doing a brake job or working on a door panel or a fender? I had put out some metal on the floor the other day with the intention of welding up some kind of frame to hold a yard sale fluorescent light in a vertical position. Then I had a brainstorm and remembered that I already had a frame with wheels on it. So with a hand truck, a yard sale fluorescent light, and a bungy cord I came up with this. Hope someone else will see some value in it.

I've actually done exactly the same thing, cool thing is you can move it around easily. When I'm sanding on a car I move it around as I go.

I hooked two to mine, only did them horizontally, one at the bottom of the handtruck and one at the top. Hooked them on with Mechanics wire.

You may not be the first but its still a good idea.

Cool idea. May want to think about a piece of lexan or similar mounted on the front. Just to make it safer from being knocked into and braking the bulbs.

nice idea,

they make plastic tube sleeves for the tubes, this will only help minimally but will help for sure.

That is a good idea. I even took an old camera tripod and attached a halogen work light to the top. Easy to move, adjustable..folds up for storage. At least for me, it was used for detailing.

I saw one of these at a friends dent repair shop except he made it "mobile" by running it off a car battery and a cheap inverter. Viola! goes anywhere
now thats a bright idea!

Seen similar set ups using inexpensive plastic folding saw horses, an old 2 x 4 drop in fixture mounted horizontally.
