a/c condensation

what is the proper way to insulate an a/c pipe in my garage ceiling. I had to cut out the area , I need to rewrap to stop it from leaking.

Could you be more specific? Pictures help, if your refering to the copper refrigerent line, then ordinary foam pipe insulation should work, get the kind that has the double sided tape in the seem and orient the seem to the top, use electrical tape to join the sections together just don't wrap so tight that it crushes the foam.

Thanks Phil. I know this was done, however when I cut out the wet area in the ceiling, the insulation and foam were completely wet. This was done once before 2 years ago , will try again. Jim

When's the last time your ac was serviced if its low on refrigerent it may be frosting the line causing excessive condensation. I assume its just laying on top of the insulation in the attic, attics can be very hot and humid maybe get a roll of fiberglass insulation to just lay over top of the lineset, might help can't hurt.
