A/C vs. Exhaust fan

Ok, so here's the basic deal. I'm in North Alabama(high temps and high humidity most of the spring/summer/fall). I have a spray foam insulated 30x50x14 building. My original intent was to use an undersized a/c unit primarily for dehumidifying purposes. The problem is the more I use it the more I see the need for an occasional exhaust fan(when running a car or welding). I have been looking at getting 2 variable speed 24" fans that combined would pull 9000-10000 cfm when needed. That would give me an air change in around 3 minutes when needed. I know that cutting 2-24" holes in the building kinda defeats the purpose of the foam/sealed building even if they do have shutters on them. Looking for any input or peoples thoughts on this. I searched on here some and couldn't find a similar thread to this. If there is and I missed it, I apologize and would appreciate the link.

I did this was a 1600 CFM attic fan - works well enough.

I have both A/C and a variable speed exhaust fan. Yes the intake and shuttered exhaust do leak heat, but they can be blocked off easy enough.

As long as nights are cool I run exhaust fan 4-7am then A/C 6-9pm when I am in building. If I need to exhaust fumes I just flip the switch.

Oh , if only the search worked that well. If you have ever rises it . It will pull up ever post about exhaust or A/C. Then you spend lots of time looking.
I used the search and find that to be true most times.

Totally fuggedabout using the basic search.

ALWAYS go to Advanced Search - It seems complex, but the ONLY SINGLE input you use are your logical keywords.

LEAVE everything else as default.

Pay NO mind to anything other than SINGLE input above.



Now, you have options to drill down by date and other things, but unless you are looking for something time sensitive like a current Craigslist ad, current Amazon Warehouse Deal, etc.. OR a specific thread... do NOT pay attention to ANY of the other selections.

99%+ of the info we search for is not affected by Time.

There REALLY should be a "Sticky" about Searching... SOOOOO many questions asked here and most other Forums can be easily immediately return a ton of archived info using Advanced Search.

So many OP's are repetitive.. Dang, even on the same page sometime.

So many seem too lazy to read.

Bottom line, it's REALLY stupid not to try it first, THEN make an OP if you need more info or opinions.
