I had been trying to fill a couple **/32 gaps in my combination wrenches when I found a guy on eBay that had two of the three I was looking for in a small lot. Looking at his other items I see he has four other that go with the set priced individually, including the third wrench I'm looking for. I make an offer on the small lot and he accepts. I shoot him an email and ask if he would sell the remaining four as a lot as well. He says "make an offer". I make a reasonable offer which he also accepts. No haggling just a nice clean deal. He ships the wrenches and sends me a note that he threw in some "extras". What? Someone on eBay not trying to squeeze every penny?! Sure enough, I get my package two days later, from the other side of the country, and there is my ten piece Armaloy wrench set along with some very serviceable USA made tools. He threw in an 8" Armstrong adjustable, slip joint Cee Tee (crescent) pliers, and some Craftsman branded "channel locks". They're not fancy or valuable but they are functional, solid tools. It really made my day.

By the way, those Armaloy wrenches are really nice. The box ends look very compact.

A couple of years ago I used ebay tool auctions as a way to ease my winter time boredom. I remember after winning one such auction, I noticed the guy was selling an older USA made ratchet or breaker bar so I made him an offer and he accepted. Same as you, when I opened the box, I found a note with a few extras free of charge. I can't remember the seller name or even what tools I bought from him. (I picked up a lot that winter...I was really bored! ) More than likely it's the same guy. Probably not many people on ebay do that.

That's good business. People want to go back to him, I'm sure. There's nothing worse than those greedy people/businesses who are trying to wring every last penny out of you, like they deserve it. I worked for an azzhole like that once, who would just soak the customer for every last bit. I couldn't stand him.

I've bought a lot of stuff on ebay lately and have had very good results. I had an issue with 1 item contacted the seller and told them what was going on and they sent a replacement without hesitation...they said they get bad ones once in a while and its just not worth the hassle of doing a return/exchange. I've since ordered a few more items from the same seller with great results as well.

I've heard horror stories from ebay but you only hear 1 side of the story most of the time so it makes you kind of wonder what the real issue was in the first place or if it was someone just trying to get something free by scamming the system and thanks to some of Paypal's rules its easily done as they'll give the buyer their money back and never actually investigate the problem :(.

I've gotten freebies from several different sellers on Ebay. Not big spendy stuff - just little oddballs they tossed in. That sort of gesture on the part of a seller goes a long way. Some sellers get it. Some don't.
Pays off to be nice to sellers. Things have a way of going full circle - all things in the universe are connected, even on the interwebs.
