A compressor tank question...........

I finally was able to get the inspection plugs removed from an old Curtis tank.

For a tank made in 1942 the inside looks pretty good. When putting the plugs back, should I use anti sieze compound,pipe joint compound or a combination of the two.

I used Permetex thread sealant on my old Ingersoll Rand. Mine was built in 1939 and like your Curtis, I was surprised at how clean the inside wall were after so many years of use.

1939 and 1942.. That's just amazing.

No way in hell will newer style tanks last that long. Ive got a 2yr old IR 80-gallon compressor with an automatic drain and I still get tons of rust water. Im worried about it lasting 10 years, let alone 70+
