a couple of whatsits

I found these two at a going to prison sale. Obviously one is tubing cutter but there is no adjustment. The other is an aluminum pipe clamp but made to be clamped to a pipe as well. Total price, one dollar.

Re: a couple of whatsits

I have a question.
All my 67 years (so far!) life I've heard of yard sales, bake sales, store clearance sales, church sales, etc. What the heck is a going to prison sale?

The yellow tool with the red handle is an exhaust pipe cutter.....clamp it around the pipe and work it back and forth to cut the pipe while still on the vehicle

I worked a few years in a muffler shop and we had the same type cutters (can't remember who made them)

I believe the other one is to mount a ground wire to a pipe or ground rod???

Haha its a good time to strike for bargain hunters. It's when someone is going to prison and selling belongings that they wont be able to store while they're in, or need to raise cash quick to pay their lawyers/court before they go in.

Your getting old man, gotta get with the times.

A going to prison sale is the new normal, it's a very casual thing. Around here we put up signs everywhere that say going to prison sale and our address so that way everyone in the neighborhood is aware and can attend

You can find the best deals at going to prison sales like narcotics, murder weapons but most importantly you might get your stolen tools back at a very good deal.

In this case the felons are already convicted of meth and weapons violations. Third conviction. The parents are selling everything including the the house.

The muffler cutter makes sense. Thanks for that. I should probably have included dimensions. The smaller screw driven clamp would fit a 3/4" pipe but the eye driven main clamp would require at least 1 1/2" pipe. The body is aluminum and the screw is brass. The two clamps are at 90 degrees to each other. Does that still make sense?

The C clamp is a power line clamp. Note the place for the connecting wire to attach so it can be connected up on a power pole with a hook to tighten it

The good thing about 4 wheel cutters is you only need to turn them 90' as each wheel is cutting so you can cut pipes in corners etc. Nice tool. The other one is a pipe cutter that cuts up to 2" pipe (says right on it) and the 3/4 clamp system is for you to clamp a piece of pipe onto it for a handle. It's nice and compact that way since the handle is removable.

Either tool is easily smuggled into prison and can be used to cut the bars on the windows of jail cells.

Thanks Mooky. I thought I could see a cutting wheel sticking out at the front corner in one photo. I can't get into the honeywell site either but I'll take your word for it. Sorry for the mis-diagnosis in my above post all.

2nd pic is an older ground clamp used to ground high voltage lines. The ground wire is clamped to the side of the clamp.

This is a pic of a newer one
