A couple shots from yesterday's project

There were other issues ,but these are a couple from the kitchen that really stuck out.
The guy just bought the place for a rental,looks like it's gonna be a while before this one is rented to anybody.

The more boxes I pulled out of kitchen wall,the more wire nuts I found back inside the wall.
And plugs/switches without boxes,well and the old sjo cord running to the one light switch.

Sheesh - Looks like my house when I moved in.

A little friction tape to splice the wires, and stuff it all behind the wall. You can take a run of 2-wire bx from the 1920s and make it look like modern 3-wire NM from the 90s at the outlet.

That'll work, right?

This was my favorite - notice the 2 wires that were plugged into the outlet in my ceiling. They were powering my entire basement.:

Ya they are going to have to bring in a exorcist to remove the ghosts that are clearly passing between your camera and those switches.....

Yeah it's a new phone ,not really happy with it so far.

It takes a lot of thought, layout time, beer, and a short dull blade to get them located just right.

How were the receptacles and switches held in place without boxes to screw them into? Were they screwed right to the wall?
