Got the edges of the feet beveled and some color on the top.
To my eye, the top came out way to dark and I'll be lightening it up, before finishing the copper.

Nice table! Bowling alley lane is kind of a love-hate thing. Yes, it is a pain in the **** to work with, but good to know something is getting recycled. I like the patterns and wood variety. Guys like you have an artistic vision for creating these works of art. I still have a 6' piece of lane that I want to make a dining table from, but I haven't come up with a leg design that the Mrs and I agree on. I might have to borrow some of your ideas.

Thanks mrapp

mmouse,
No kidding on the love/hate.
Good luck on getting a leg design that pleases all.
Thanks

Tonight, I got the top separated from the legs, the top sanded a bit to lighten the color, the feet bored and bolted to the legs and the top placed on jackstands to prep for bending the flange on the underside.

Awesome project! I like it a lot! The feet you made for the legs turned out nice too! You going to put some polyurethane on for a top coat?

Copper done and another coat of oil on.
I put a date under one of the leg mounts and a note to Mrs Clause under the other, but that one is for her eyes only.
Also got it drug from the shop to the house.
Now, I need to muster the energy to get it up the stairs.

Got it hauled up the stairs and put together.
A very sentimental moment for Mrs Clause.
I sure do love that girl.
Any how, this project is complete other than applying more oil over the next year.

I have been following this table build. It looks amazing and I really like the copper edge.

Is that a sediment sampler hanging from the ceiling above the table?

I had a good time with this project and gifting it to my true love makes it all the better.
Yes, that is a sediment sampler that I made a light fixture out of.
Ru2slo you are the first to recognize what it is.
I tell everybody that it is a kraut bomb from WW1
Here is a couple pics of it, with the elves climbing on it

You have a very heavy duty dining room!

The light is awesome! You can tell people that it was called a "Mud Bomb".

If you think the dining room is heavy, check out this 7 foot 8 sided 14 gauge hood over the kitchen island.

You seem to have some experience in these samplers, are you a USGS hand?

Thanks

I appreciate your style.

I work for the Corps of Engineers. When I get a chance, I work on the MS River where sediment is a driving factor for everything.
