Hey cretecoater, what is the machie called you used in the 4th pic? Is that what i need to rent to get rid of the grey paint i have on my floor before i epoxy coat it?

Hey Mach1, that is a diamond floor grinder and yes its what you will need. More than likely the rental place will have a similar machine made by EDCO that will work just as well but will be a little dusty if it doesn't have a vac hookup. Actually the blue garage was done with an edco, wasn't too bad with all the doors opened.

If you do rent one make sure they have diamond inserts and not the ones that look like cinder block.

Hi everyone i am new to this sight, i must say it is loaded with tons of info. For that thanks everyone!!!
I am in the process of getting ready to expoxy my new grade floor. I put a broom finish in the floor knowing i was going to expoxy it thinking that that will give it more to grab to. I have noticed there have been many people floor grinding instead of washing and acid etching. Is the floor grinding something i will need to do is it better? please respond with you comments.

At Epoxy-Coat we always say that diamond grinding is the preferred method for the do it yourselfer. Acid etching is perfectly acceptable though.
