I couldn't resist, they kept calling out to me from a guys basement...

BrainerdBuy.jpg

It included a complete set of Matco 3/8 short impact sockets from 10mm to 22mm, a SO 3/8 dr F723 push release, a SO 1/4 dr TL936, a SK 1/4 dr 40971, a couple of SO 3/8 dr bit sockets, a SO hard handel #2 Philips, Mac bit driver with bits, Mac gasket scraper and a couple of Matco small wrenches (10 and 11mm) and a SO flare nut set from 1/4 to 13/16.

Not a great deal but I felt sorry for the kid. He thought he had $7,000 of tools and boxes but only had about $1,200 to $1,500 at best (if he cleaned them up) in Mac boxes and a bunch of Taiwan and Chinese tools, some Craftsman and I bought most of the good tools. Gave him $60.00 for the pile but could have gotten it for less.

Oh, almost forgot.....this one had followed me home from another guys house for the future son-in-law on Monday. He is starting to get as expensive as the daughters. I don't think this box had ever had any tools added to it because the guy bought it based on the size and found out that cubic inches does not compute with square inches of laydown area. He went back two days later and bought a two bay roller but his dealer would not take the cart back and it has been sitting in his basement for the past two years. I didn't get that good of a deal but it is a MINT cart for $350

I have met a lot of people lately that think that they have a fortune in tools. Sometimes I don't have the heart to break it to them that they couldn't get 10% of what they think it is worth.

That's not a bad price for a new Matco cart. I think if I was the seller though, I would have bought have bought the rollaway from a different dealer since he wouldn't take the new cart back. Exactly what do you have tied to your bumper to intice these items to follow you home? Congratulations on your purchases....

Sweet cart. I also like that Rigid SUV in the background. I got one free with my Rigid miter saw from HD when they were doing a promo several years ago. Awesome saw/mobile table combo...

Sharp eye.... I like that cart a LOT. It has a Hitachi 12" sliding compound miter saw attached to it that was a closeout deal from Lowes. Had to buy a blade for it but for what they wanted, I wasn't about to let it get away. The cart was bought off of CL also from a guy that used it in his wood shop but he made a series of feed-in tables for it and mounted his saw to them instead.

I think $60 for that lot of tools is a great deal. I like that SO handle design on the flare nut wrenches. My dad has a bunch of Snap-on from the 70s with that diamond design. I think he has that same ratchet too. Cool stuff!

Nice deals! I like those old S/O wrenches. They have some "style" to them.

Hmmm want to sell the #2 hard handle? I'm missing mine from my "working" set.

justinmc,

PM your shipping address to me and it's yours. I don't have any other hard handles (I'm weird and like the hard instinct handles) and picked that one up just "because". The rest of the tools I had a use for but I can let that one go to a good home. Just use it in good faith, keep it warm and tucked in at night and make sure she keeps good company and it's yours.

Ha ha...just hope for his sake he's not looking down the barrel of one!

You said that but a few weeks ago he was iced in at our house for the night. He slept in the spare bedroom and before he went in, I told him that door had better not open until I opened it in the morning.

Just to make sure he understood, it was explained that if caught out of the room for any reason, he would be urinating by sitting on a seat for the rest of his life due to being young, stupid and losing his "manly" equipment.... Fear is a powerful thing....
