Yup, "board & batten"... the "batten" is the narrow strip that covers the seams of the boards. I have it on my house too, although I do not really care for the look. It was there when I purchased the place, and I haven't yet replaced it with HardieBoard.
To the OP, I love reading the posts. You may have trouble writing in American, but you are doing very well with it. The phrases come out somewhat odd at times, but the meaning is clear.

Thanks... I learned my english thirty years ago and I haven´t actually never used it... writing some forums that´s all... When I was at school, we learned british english. Today it is mostly american english... (new generations of teachers)

Here is my American Hardtop going to its new home...
Here AMC Eagle leaves old "garage". 20 years ago I started to modify old cowhouse/horse stable to garage. It was a cold and uncomfortable place, but it was the best I could get...

I'm still curious about your foundation. How deep is it?, how much gravel under the floor, thickness of floor etc. Insulation under the floor?

Floor is 80 mm of concrete. There are 350 meter floor heating pipes and reinforcing steel inside of it. When we go deeper, we´ll find 100 mm of polystyrene.
Footing and foundation... Blocks and footing are 20 cm high .
Here you can see level of silt under isolation. There is an extra 50 mm of isolated area because I made thicker concrete. It is for the hoist (some day).
Isolation and steel and pipes... they are all there... I used polyurethane to prevent cold come in thru foundation and lower part of wall. You can see at doorway how much there is isolation.

Ramblers and AMCs sold well during sixties and early seventies in Finland. Americans, Classics,Rebels and Hornets they were very popular cars. Javelins did quite well, too.
In Finland we´ve had very heavy car taxes since 1958. That´s why "finnish" best sellers have been low price models. If I remember right, AMC import did stop 1974. And after that they were underrated.
AMC cars between 1974-88 are very rare in here... Some private imported as new and much more during last 20 years (reduced tax for older cars).

GREAT car trailer design, you got there...clever use of bed angles, to ease loading vehicle.

I rented that car trailer from a man who uses it to tow his small excavator.If I remember right, it is made in Germany... and it is super heavy duty trailer. We had very busy weekend last summer when we had four cars to move... My American HT and Eagle, and my friends 57 Chevy and 65 SS Bel Air.
I have worked all winter to get my Eagle on the road again. All rust is done and now I have engine under renovation. Then paint...

Thanks for info. No gravel under the insulation? How many hours of work, approx? I want to start my build this summer, even if I can only pour the foundation, but I have another house that wants a new roof and floors so I guess it wont be possible. I've planned a smaller building though, about 75 m2. Thought I should have pros make the foundation but I got an offer on 14 000 euro and had to change plans...
No, there is no gravel under the insulation. Building inspector came and told that this silt good to use and needed nothing more...
I haven´t calculated hours only months... It was late April when my neighbor came with his excavator. And framing started at the last day of August. At the end of October it was winter, we had early winter 2008... It was awinter without steelroof...

Hello there in Bavaria. I live 50 kms west from Halli. Did you work at Patria aeroplanefactory? Hornets? Wrrooooooommmmm....... I have one (AMC) Hornet in my garage. Yes we have some cold weather here during winter. Last two winters we had some snow, too. A lot of it. Very much indeed. One could say... a lot of snow and very cold winters these two... Thank God we have our saunas!

Scandinavian countries do have a long tradition of hotrod and drag race. Sweden was the first one and Finland came few years behind. In Sweden they had their first hotrods mid 50´s and in Finland early 60´s. This all was very modest...at the beginning. It took several years before they began drag racing. Swedes han their "first go" 1968 and Finns 1975. Now drag race is very popular motorsport in both countries. And today both countries are considered as "the most american countries in the world"...
Here in Finland we have had very high car taxes, price of gasoline is extremely high. These do not prevent us driving US-cars.
Today (easter 2011) there is in Helsinki (our capitol) American car show, and a week ago we had an other big show, Tampere Hot rod and rock show. You can Google these...

A year after I finished that storage garage, I began to build another one!
Same style, not so high and floor area is shorter...

Behind there is a log house made of logs that are over 100 years old. I had an exellent idea of a blacksmith´s shop, so I built it. This building is on its third place. I never used it, because I moved away from my parents farm at the time I got it ready.
That´s how it is now...
Behind the blacksmith´s shop there you can see roof of an old thrashing house. Years ago I built my first car storage next to it. I used logs and beams of an old trashing house, so it looks like it is almost one hundred years old. trying to find some pics....
