Bought a bunch of new appliances at Lowe's and now have a $300.00 Lowe's gift card to blow. What Lowe's cordless tool package would you buy for $400.00 or less? (Thereby allowing me to tell my wife that I bought all this stuff for only $100.00)

Dewalt is good. I also have a lot of the Kobalt 24v tools. They have been awesome and I highly recommend them. To bad Lowes doesn't have Milwaukee, that would probably be a first choice for most anybody. I'd stay away from the Craftsman though and opt for the Dewalt if you were looking at the Cman stuff. The Cman stuff is basically Dewalt and Porter Cable clones in red. Just my opinion.

I would get craftsman brushless power tools. Pretty good bang for the buck.

I would stay away from the Kobalt stuff, I thought I heard a rumor about Lowe’s doing away with the Kobalt brand. But again just a rumor. I don’t have any experience with Kobalt power tools.

My go to is always Dewalt. I don’t think they are the best, but I have yet to have a bad tool from them. I’ve bought their 4 tool 18v combo package and have since upgraded to their 20v combo tool package.

I also have Craftsman 20v leaf blower and brushless weed trimmer, and again no completes with craftsman either. But again no experience with the new craftsman cordless drills or saws.

I'd 100% get one of the Dewalt 20v kits, if you aren't invested in a battery platform yet. I've had mine for only about a year so far, but they've been excellent to me.

If you're already stocked up there, I'd use it to get building materials -- I'm in the midst of building a fair bit of storage in the garage, and I've gone through nearly $200 of lumber so far.

Otherwise, maybe some nice new fixtures, OR if it doesn't expire, wait and see what else comes along -- home ownership is funny, there's always something that could use repairing/upgrading.

Its just a rumor that's been discussed on here a lot. They scaled back the hand tools to make room for Craftsman. They have expanded their 24v tools. Adding several so far this year. If you need a cordless tool, give them an honest look. Compare battery prices (cheapest I've seen $20 for a 2.0ah battery) and warranty (same as Milwaukee), read reviews. They are not junk at all. Plus, all their tools are brushless. protoolreviews.com is a good site to look at.

Not trying to sidetrack this thread but this has been discussed for months on this site. Some stores are still yet to do there reset will others already have. In Columbus all of the stores have reset. Less kobalt hand tools and tool boxes and saws. Less Hitachi B&D and Porter Cable cordless tools. Less Irwin hand tools. More Craftsman hand and power tools and more Kobalt 24v tools. Different regions will see different inventory levels. Honestly, anything Lowes sells would be good for a DIY owner. Dewalt having the deepest lineup.

Dewalt, or Milwaukee if they have that.

Remember, the bigger the battery the more power... but much bulkier to move around.

I generally prefer the mid voltage tools, and use plug ins in rare times I need the major muscle.

Buying the heavier stuff is a real PIA working on common projects.

Hold onto it for 3 months and stretch it out on promo deals?

The Dewalt Xtreme 12V drills and driver kits dropped to $99 recently...
