A flat pry bar?

There are a lot of times I need to use a prybar in an area where an angled head just doesn't have clearance and I am forced to use a screwdriver. Usually when trying to open up slide shots in machinery at work.

It got me thinking, does anyone sell an unangled pry bar? with a nice big head? Sometimes the job is a lot to ask of a 3/8 x 8 in Screwdriver.

it sounds to me like you need to make your way to the band saw and make yourself a nice wedge! im with you though, it sounds like you need either a chisel or a nice wedge that tapers down to nothing. I've made all my wedges for my boilermaker-clamps on a bandsaw usually out of at least 3/4 plate.
However i usually work at a foundry where that type of stuff is just lying around, and they have the most bada$$ horizontal bandsaw i've ever seen!

If you have an Ollies Outlet near you , they were selling pry bars there real reasonable in different lengths and straight and curved made in Canada.

I've had the flat tip Mayhew dominators for more than a few years now and they have served me well.

Shop around for the best deal.

Gasket scraper is way too delicate. Chisel or wedge is not what I want. I want a flat pry bar, with a handle at least a foot long.

Matco used to make them. I have an older one that works well.

Look for a flat alignment bar. They have a flat blade on one end and a round point on the other.

I got this Proto J9648C "screwdriver" from HJE, it was in their clearance section. It literally looks like an enormous screwdriver. It's a pry bar, though.

I have an older straight matco one that is good, dont recall what i paid for it but probably too much. The mayhews are good.

These are their plain red handle instead of the dominator. Non-striking but a good bit cheaper and pretty similar to your Cman/Wilde prybar handles.

For small stuff, I've used striking screwdrivers.
If I'm doing more hitting than prying/levering, I'll use a cold chisel.

For levering, I have a tire iron that's straight.

I use an old big truck tyre lever I found at the side of the road, makes a perfect pry bar.

I third this. My local Ollies still has a pile of flat tipped pry bars in stock.

I needed one similar, I just made my own. Took an old lug wrench and put it in the fire till it was red hot, beat the angle out of it, then beat the lug nut end flat. It sort of forge-welded itself together. It Makes an awesome flat prybar...if you don't need as large of a pry end, just use the regular chisel end that is on it and leave the lugnut end alone.
