Funny HaHa ... and funny annoying.

Been using this mishmash of good, bad and uglies -for years.

Screwdrivers01b_zps84f1dc0c.jpg

The most used are the aussie made Stanley ones.

Lost, stolen and missing stanley ones been replaced with the newer, abysmal, chinese made versions.

So Ive been on the hunt for some decent brand replacements ... not sets ... just individuals.

ol mate up the road, uses these - and has them at his tool store / engineering workshop ... but not in individuals.
Dont feel bad in the hand ... and OK to use.
Branded as JBS.

Soooo ... time to hit the google trail ..

and .......

... can mail order individuals from out on the coast.

... can get these from the Brits ... as Draper brand

altho ... this would be my preferred handle ... since Im not all that keen on spongy, comfy, ergo handles ..

... which of course ... isnt imported to australia as part of the JBS lineup ..

.... and then today - whilst wearing out the tip of my typing finger,

Up pops this old post from the garagejournal.

Koken Screwdrivers w/ striking caps and magnetic tips.

sighhhhh .... :dunno:

Why cant the sellers just leave the manufacturers name on the damn things,

Tool companies seem to be like a bunch of crossdressers, at one those gay mardi gras parades ..

The way things are going,

..... A KingTony set is looking good for the price ..

I have the 1/4 and 3/8 square Ko-Ken wobble drivers with those handles. And I too, wondered who the OEM was exactly. Not that I have any issue with Ko-Ken. But they don't offer every handled driver under the sun, with favouring metric and Asian auto marque sizes.

Thanks for doing some research for me. LOL If you run into a square driver with female square broached at the top of the handle, I want to hear about it!

Slightly ot, but do you just mean a 1/4" drive nut spinner handle with a female drive at the handle end? Try Wright #2442

CAUTION ! Asia is full of copycats and in some areas no trademark/copyright infringement issues etc and no enforcement anyway so you need to not assume that these are in any way the same tool- there *MAY* be a large difference in quality between the above apparently merely re-badged and not necessarily identical tools. Just sayin' !!:dunno:

aint that the truth .....

I'm suspecting the Draper ones and the JBS ones from Blackwoods are on a par, quality wise,

... but I would be shy about even throwing the $10 at the NorthernTools set ..

Maybe all these screwdrivers are the ... well bred ... and the redheaded stepchildren,

.... from ApexTools SATA plant in china ??? ..

Ohhhh .... I give up .. :headscrat ... maybe I'll just go throw some dollars at the Crescent set with the "aussie made" logo.

hmmmm .... I wonder whats "aussie made" ?? ... the drivers, or the packaging ?? ....

I'm wanting longer, and not just 1/4" The SO trucks seem to never have a
TM9CSA on hand.

There is vintage SO in 3/8, everything out there I've seen lately (VIM I think) is homely.

It's another thread, really.

Picked up a bunch of aussie Sidchrome, Stanley and Turner screwdrivers at a clearing sale the other day.

Filled the gaps on the rack adequately.

... until I shout myself a christmas present, of 220/206 series Felo screwdrivers.
