I came across this web site for Tap cons and thought I would share it, about half the cost of Lowes and no tax and free shipping. I received my order in 2 days and got a made in the USA product ( of Canadian steel ) http://www.confast.com/

I'm maybe misunderstanding something but if you have a Menards nearby you I think they're quite a bit cheaper there plus no shipping. Again if you have one nearby. I just bought some Tapcons there yesterday. This might be a good deal though for everyone outside the Menards' corridor.

I was comparing Tap con brand, I am sure there are cheap China knock offs all over the place. I kinda like that USA tag myself.

The website referenced by the OP ships for FREE. So, no gas money or time wasted going to find them at a store that may or may not have what you want in stock. Their website has all the technical info you could want, including how-to videos. I compared their prices with Amazon prices and they are equal to or better than Amazon (not eligible for prime  ), at least for the anchors I need.

After building a house, I found the big boxes to be the most expensive source for hardware. My build used 500 3/8 X 4 galvanized lag screws. Big Orange wanted $1.49 each; I paid $.27 each from McMaster-Carr. I saved about $600 on just that one item.

We use LDT 's for structural anchoring quit a bit. Up to 3/4" x 10" . A lot of engineers are specing concrete lags over wedge anchors.

What on Earth are you using that large of a Tapcon for ? :headscrat

Oh! I was looking at the wedge anchor page... I was thanking them for the link to a good deal, not the same item!

& yes, I am using them for mounting anchors for my garage, local code calls for minimum 8" depth into the concrete.
