A good deal???

I found a Husky 60 gal air compressor on CL for $400. She claims it is a month old, bought at HD for $489. And a bonus is she is about 5 min away from me. So should this be a good deal on a Husky compressor?? any known problems with them?

I'd spend the extra $90 and get a new one with a warranty. Does it say why they are selling it a month after purchase?

She claims she bought for boyfriend and since they broke up she got the compressor and has no need for it. I'm thinking if she has all the paperwork/receipt, may still be able to use the warranty. I'm thinking of offering $375.

If I'm not mistaken it's the same Campbell Hausfeld compressor I bought from Tractor Supply and also pretty much the same thing that several other places sell under various names. They go on sale now & then for right about $400. I got mine for $429 a few months ago. I'd offer $350 "if" she's got the warranty papers and they are still blank so you can register it to yourself.

If it's the oil less setup....I wouldn't pay more than $250...even new.

Ok....that is the good one....but $400 is a bit steep.....fair asking price.....

The problem is that it's so new she thinks she should get the almost new price for it....

Offer $350....and keep watching the add....the longer it stays up...the better the chance the price will come down.

I'd offer $200 max.

Then she could feel good as if she just screwed her ex financially.

And then if she's a looker, ya' might be able to work out that $200 with some physical activity. Ex wife and girlfriends delight in that kind of stuff, especially if the ex was screwin' around on them.

I get the feeling that SHE bought the compressor. So it isn't him loosing the money. But I know what you are saying. Years ago I knew of a women selling her husbands Corvette for dirt cheap because she had caught him screwing around.

gave her $350 for it. Now I just need to figure out where I'm going to put it in my garage. Move this, that and that and maybe it can fit over there... Oh wait I need to raise the cabinets higher so that I can move the tool box under them and have room for the compressor. This should be fun. Wife told me, I'm done buying things for a while now. But if I keep selling things I will then need to get other things to replace them.
