I have been working on my headers and they have 7/16 bolt heads. I have a shorty wrench I think it is husky brand. Not a great brand I know so I am looking for a better wrench that won't open up when I am tightening bolts up.

What would be the best but budget minded wrench to replace this with?

I just need a short wrench that will not spread open.

I have SK stubby wrenches and really like them. I haven't had one spread yet, but I think it would be hard to put enough torque on a stubby to spread it.

Vcaddy is right that obstruction wrenches come in handy for stuff like that. Also, if you want a fantastic set of stubby combination wrenches, look no further than Cornwell Stubbies.

They not only hold without spreading on the open end, they also have the v-cut in the open end rather than the standard arc you see on most wrenches.

I absolutely love mine.

Sorry for the late reply. I am using the open end. I am not sure the obstruction wrench would fit with my primaries.

Anywhere to buy cornwell wrenches online I have never seen a cornwell truck in amarillo.
