I finished it a while ago, but promptly covered it with carpet so I could fill the living room with stuff while I work on the kitchen. I forgot to take pictures.

When the kitchen is done and all the **** is out of the living room again I'll take "finished" photos.

That is probably the most beautiful wood floor I have seen. I've seen a lot of high end floors, but just knowing the amount of effort that went into this and the the fact you finished each plank just makes it more beautiful.

Thanks for sharing, this is really inspiring stuff.

Who knows?
Whoa.....I think it's about time for a bump.

How's the floor look? Did you ever get the kitchen finished and roll the carpet back out?

Thanks for bumping this, I never saw this thread. That is a truely amazing looking floor. That being said, I'd be afraid to even walk on it!

What's cool about wood floors is the fact they can be refinished a few times, or even repaired in case of an accident. That floor is not just beautiful, it's a working floor!

I am glad this was bumped too, didn't see it before and it turned out incredible.

Adding my voice to the annual request for pics of the finished project!

I can't wait! Well, obviously I can, but I prefer not to.

Side note: I did use the filler you recommended on a small project. Great find! Thanks for sharing the results of your research.

Walnut and Maple are my favorite woods as well, especially when used in combination!

This was one of several Walnut and Maple cutting boards I made as Christmas presents one year:

I do a board similar but I do a end grain board. It starts with the same board as yours but after a few cuts, it ends up looking like this.

Black00Lightning- That narrow striped board is beautiful. Any that carpenter's square? Wow! the jeweling and contouring are outstanding.
