The outside of the barn got a paint job also... Went with Behr barn red using the hf sprayer again. Also took down more of the boxelders that were crowding the structure. The two pines left to the South may have to go this summer to make way for a solar array, but not decided yet.

2 car projects inside creeping along... Both now in their 4th year. The green one should drive this year finally, but the red one may be a couple years still.

Some snow today. I developed a snowblowing tractor habit the last couple years... Quick rehabs of Toros mostly while keeping my Deere 265. These pines need to go unfortunately...

Loving the progress on this. Can't wait to see what else happens. Also loving the big bumper mkII GLI. One of the all time favorite Jettas. Now you just need dual rounds!

Thanks, the car projects are a bit deeper than initially intended. The red one is a '92 GTI actually so quad rounds. A VR6 turbo swap is in progress from the original 8v.

The grey jetta I had with a VRT ironically was the donor for the green SLC. The body on the Jetta was tired and I wanted a chassis that was more collectible. The Corrado popped up for the right price at the right time.

One project at a time would be a much better fit for both the garage and my play budget. I'm probably going to list the SLC this summer to try to get into a mkv r32 or maybe 3.6 CC 4 motion... Something the wife can drive to work and the kids can ride in more safely.

Shop upgrade.

Media blast cabinet.

I picked up this well-used cabinet locally and hauled it upstairs in the shop. The glass was broken and the lights were out. Tons of potential uses here as just about every project I'm touching has bits that need refinishing often from road salt.

Upgrades performed = halogen flood lights, dust deputy collector system, ac fan control to dial back suction on the vacuum, new glass/sheets, Eastwood foot pedal/gun, bbq vent over inlet for more suction control, gravity feed media nozzle etc. Quite happy with the performance!

Shop upgrade.

Air compressor noise reduction box from mostly scrap, hastily assembled. If you're trying to reduce your compressor noise too then skip the air-box intake mod step and go right for a chamber / insulated box like this.

100cfm "Minuteman fan" was the best option I could find to keep things cool while also using a regular household ac outlet. I'm still watching heat levels and have a fire extinguisher nearby.

The results are what I would describe as "good" with some room for improvement left. You can tell there's an air compressor running but it doesn't give the same ear-boxing sensation as before. You can hear the stereo and have a normal conversation while the compressor runs. I have a few hundred board feet of this 3/4 pine panel that I used for the top still on hand from the previous homeowner who turned half the house into a library. I may strap the outside in another layer later this summer to bring levels down even more.

Harbor Freight 2.5hp, 21 gallon 4.7scfm @ 90psi item 61454, 69091, 63635, 67847 is rated at 90db at 3' and confirmed the same with the app.

Box as-is brought it down to 74-78db range.
