when i say kinda serious i mean i really dont care about the answer.
but i got to thinking about it today and was a bit curious.
my neighbor is really cool. a drag racer and has a couple motorcycles and we get along famously, but....his daughter and her baby and her boyfriend live w/ him, so theyre my neighbors too.
yesterday the boyfriend comes over to ask me a favor.
he knows i work at a shop that has tool trucks that come by.
he shows me a snap-on knife. it says snap-on in big letters and kershaw in smaller letters.
i can tell its the 4" ken onion model.
about 1/4" of the tip of the blade is broke clean off.
i could be wrong, but i bet he didnt buy it. i'm sure it was given to him or he found it on the jobsite.
he wanted me to take it to work and give it to the snap-on guy for a new one.
i told him the truth. i have no account on the snap-on truck, so the driver doesnt "owe" me anything and i dought he'd warranty it for me..
yes i have a bunch of SO tool and did have an account w/ the old guy, but i paid it off and swore never to runn up a bill again.
i am friendly w/ the new SO guy and do chat w/ him weekly, but if i was gonna pull some warrany **** it would be for my own stuff
i told him SO may not even warranty that at all. like the drop light i got for x-mas some years ago that says snap-on but was bought at a chain auto parts store.
i told him he'd have better luck calling kershaw for a warrenty. i've had a few kershaws and they are a good company.
he was being lazy and didnt want to do the legwork for his own broken tool.
maybe i was a jerk for blowing him off, but did i mention that i'm not that fond of him.
anyhow just for my own curiosity would snap-on or kershaw or no one be responcible for this warranty?
