Hi All,
I live in Greenville, Ohio. I am a retired diesel mechanic. My brother and I had our own farm repair service for several years. We done everything from major overhauls, transmissions, tractor pulling work and anything else clear down to chain saws and garden tractor work of all kind. we sold chainsaws and was a dealer for Wheel Horse garden tractors. I have a full set of Snapon tools long with some Craftsman, Proto, Mac, Mattco, and even some off brand tools which I am not fond of. I was introduced to this site by Google search as I was in the process of up grading toolboxes which I did. This site give me a lot of great information on different boxes and advice from many posters. I then decided I wanted to join this site as I feel I can be a real asset on this site. I also feel other people can be a asset to me also. Yes I am a newbie at posting on forums so just please work with me and help me learn how to post correctly on forums.
I know nothing about this posting technology but I am willing to learn. I am not afraid to try. I want everybody to know, I am here to help you if I can and also everybody help me if I need help with something. This site is great when you need advice on something or planning a garage. Watch for my posts I may have something to sell from time to time.
I am sorry for the size of this post, but I wanted you to know a little about me

Thanks,

ToolMan: great first post and just ask questions if you need help with how to use the forum. may i suggest you try posting a few pictures either of your favorite tools, new tool box or cars or tractors so you'll know how to post pictures for your threads and questions. i use the paperclip method that is just above where we write our posts so give it a try it's just like attaching pictures to an email.

as far as you selling and maybe buying items we do a lot of that here and trading too so get involved and get to know the members and all that will happen easily as time passes and we get to know you and you get to know us.

welcome

ToolMan: as we frown on members just joining to sell their wares we also all buy and sell items and some of us daily.

Have you tried the local Craigslist to sell your boxes? are they empty or full of tools? i would try that method first. take and post great pictures and you actually might get a local GJ member to stop by with some cash because most of us look on Craigslist before we look for new.

I think you can post pictures of those boxes in the show me your toolbox thread and you might mention they are for sale. like i mentioned we are a forum first for learning and giving information, but we all like tools.

just saying there are a lot of members that like Snap on and a lot more that would rather buy an less quality import for a 1/3 of the price because they don't have the excess cash to spend on a toolbox.

good luck

Thanks for your quick reply. I will try Craigslist till I get enough posts under my belt. What I really would like more to do is work some kind of a trade if some body had a Classic 96 top box or a classic 78 top box they wanted to get rid off. But that is few and far between of ever coming true I think.

Thanks,

ToolMan: you'd be surprised what trades might happen if you stick around. may i suggest reading the toolbox thread in the vintage section and seeing all the cool toolboxes. start participating with questions or sharing your wisdom on that thread and that might get you your old boxes.

a reasonable way to ship heavy or big items is on a pallet through Fastenal if you have one near you so check them out in case you need to ship yours or have one shipped to you.

good luck and hope to see a few more posts from you in the toolbox or old tool sections where i usually hang out.
