I don't know much about Geothermal unites and ours have been acting up and I could use a little help before I call the professionals.

we have a geo unit and have lived in this house for 3 years without any problems. It has started getting cold here in IL and for the last few weeks we have been waking up to a very cold house. We set the thermostat on 69 or 70 and it kicks on and everything is ok. When we get up in the am, it is usually reading 64 to 65 and the screen flashed aux heat and nothing seems to be running. So I click through the system readings and go from heat to cool to emergency heat beck to heat and everything starts working again. Any explantion for this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Check the taco valve (the little orange valve on the water outflow pipe, should have wires connected to it). Might be seized. Mine tend to seize up fairly regularly (humid basement). If you replace it, replace the whole valve, not just the electrical head (otherwise, it'll probably seize up again in a year or so - mine did).

I would try going to the forums at geoexchange. There are a lot of industry profesionals that post on there. Include your furnace model number and your thermostat model so they know what you have.
