So I've been working on cleaning up a top & bottom Cornwellwith a SO side box hanging off it and an old SnapOn bottom with C'man top . The previous owner was an mechanic at a German auto dealership in the Orlando area from the late 70's - 2000. It appears the SO bottom, side box and C';man top box were his original set at work, then he got the Cornwell pair. He retired, brought both sets home and then passed away. The stuff sat in a garage with the lid of the Cornwell top box (where all the sockets were) left open. His wife tried to give the boxes to her SIL who doesn't know much about tools ("They're all dirty..."). So she just left them as-is. Remember, this is in early 2000. A couple of months ago, she told another of my boys she would sell them if he knew anyone who would like these boxes and give her a fair price for them. He calls me up and I told him to get pics. I liked the pics and didn't mind the dirt, so I made a pretty good offer and she accepted it. They are both filled to the brim with toolbox-truck tools, mostly metric, but a lot of ASE as well. There is everything in there from Snap On, Matco, Mac, Proto, SK, SK-Wayne, C'man all the way back to Industreo, old Wizard & Plomb pieces. The idea was to give the Cornwell top & bottom setto one of my sons filled with C'man stuff I have and sell off the toolbox-truck goodies on eBay.
Here are a couple of pics of some Snap On goodness (and some Mac impact goodness). I'll post more pics when a get some time. Right now, I'm also sorting a lot of Craftsman tools out by date. Mostly late 60's through late 80s (-V- and -VV-). Some older - with Logo as "C__________" and if I go into my dad's box: some circle H an BE stuff from the 40's. He has Snap ON, and other truck tools from back in HIS day.
I don't know when SO changed the packaging of the wobble extensions, but the red holder is pretty well gone, but the tools are in great shape. Both the packaging on the flare nut wrenches and the combo wrenches are great.
