So I did my VCT floor a little while ago.
I did not seal the floor with sealer or epoxy clear.
I thought that I'd give some feedback on what it's turning out like.
We live in an area that is wet and rainy during the winter. This moisture premiates the gaps in the tile.
in one small area, the glue had softened, and while doing more alignment on the shelby, the side skid of the tires, when being jacked up and down, caused three tiles to push over, then fracture.
This should not be a big deal. I was able to carefully lift up the tiles, and used pl400 to hold them down. Once this much stronger adhesive dries, the issue should be gone.
The daily driver, does leave tire marks on the tile. Some can be mopped up. Some will stain the tile. It's the nature of the climate, we're in.
If I used a commercial floor sealer, the floor would be too slippery. Rain water would likely make this type of sealer pretty useless.
Plan is, in the spring, when the weather gets dry, to sand and refinish with a clear epoxy (with the floor grit.)
I still like the floor. Staining or not, it's a working garage. The floor jacks scratch the floor. The jack stands make imprints in the VCT. I wanted it to look nice. It does, but I'm not going to stop working in the garage.
I have no illusions, that spilled solvents, welding, soldering, and oozing fluids from the hot big block, are going to take their toll. I might post again in 6 months, to let you guys know what that toll eventually is
